Mid-South Bible Institute - Glasgow, Kentucky

Our History and Nature

Mid-South Bible Institute was established in May of 1998.

Several people and churches were instrumental in it's inception.  Larry Glass, a business man in Glasgow, Kentucky, pushed for the school and because of his efforts and the efforts of the Hickory College Church of Christ the school realized its beginning.  The school began with thirty five students and since that first class we have had approximately two hundred students to pass through our doors.  Those students represent over fifteen churches in the tri-county area.

MSBI is housed in its own facility and isn't connected to any one particuliar church.  Therefore, we are a regional school and we are considered as such in the Glasgow area.  In fact, the Board of Education in Barren county considers us to be a part of the educational system in this area and we are advertised that way in the Glasgow Daily Times.

In the early years of the school we had three administrators: Don Smyth, Danny Wyatt, and Darrell Wallace.  Darrell later went to Greece to do mission work and Dennis Hudgins was then certified as our third administrator.

MSBI, in May of 2006, completed eight years of Biblical studies.  We have covered thirty six courses, thirty two of which were required for our credit students in order for them to graduate.  So far we have graduated two students at the full credit level, Nick Secula and Joey Harbison.  Both of these men preach for local congregations in the Glasgow, Kentucky area.  Joey Harbison and his wife Dawn recently went to Lubbock, Texas where Joey graduated with the resident students at SIBI.

During the past eight years we have had approximately fifteen preachers from our area to attend the school.  Also we have had about that same number of elders to attend.  We are pleased with the schools history and look forward to even a greater future.
